Initial Visit

When you first contact us, we will arrange an initial visit to discuss your garden and introduce you to the way we work. At this meeting we discuss all your needs, your tastes and dislikes, from which a brief can be formulated. This meeting usually takes around 1-2 hours.

We will then be able to provide you with a written quotation for the design work.

Site Survey

Once you have decided to go ahead, an accurate survey of the existing garden is needed before any design work can take place. This is undertaken either by ourselves, or a surveyor if the garden is large and complex.

This also includes a thorough site assessment, looking at the aspect, views and soil conditions etc.

Concept Plan

The first drawings of the design include an outline plan showing the layout of the garden and supporting visuals to show you how the final garden will look. This enables us to present our ideas to you and discuss any changes you may wish to make.

Layout Plan

The layout plan incorporates any amendments and is the plan from which a landscape contractor will be able to cost and build the garden.

Planting Plan and Schedule

The planting plan shows the position and spacing of all the plants. An accompanying schedule lists the plant names, sizes and quantities and is used for costing, purchasing and placing the plants.

We are happy to help you find a landscaper to construct the garden. We can also recommend local landscapers whose work is of a high quality. We have worked in the past with Stephen Morris Landscapes and would be happy to recommend them again in the future.

Planting and Maintenance

After the garden has been constructed we are able to source, supply and set out all the plants in your garden and organise the planting. We can also prepare simple maintenance guidelines to help you look after your new plants.
